In December, GREATVISORY in the consortium led by ICE, including IBE and SFERE was awarded the project related to Development Education and Awareness Raising. The activities started immediately after the contract signature with the online kick-off meeting with Devco B1 “Gender Equality, Humand Rights and Democratic Governance” and introduction of main assumptions and challenges of the Programme. After that, the meeting with the former DST Team was organised, where the “handover” activities of the project were discussed.

The EU DEAR Programme, funded under the Civil Society/Local Authorities thematic programme, has two specific objectives:

1. To contribute to developing European citizens’ understanding of the interdependent world, of roles and responsibilities in relation to development issues in a globalised society;
2. To support European citizens’ active engagement with global attempts to eradicate poverty and promote justice, human rights and democracy, social responsibility, gender equality and sustainable development strategies in partner countries.

To achieve these objectives, the EU DEAR Programme focuses on two lines of action:

1. Development Education/Global Learning, to foster knowledge and competences to engage with development issues, through the use of participatory and experiential education methodologies, either within or outside the formal education system;
2. Awareness Raising/Campaigning & Advocacy, where the objective is to support citizen involvement and advocacy for more sustainable policies, political and economic structures and individual practices, in relation to global development.

We are very much looking forward to implementing further activities within this contract, award of which is a confirmation of vast experience of our GREATVISORS in the domain of citizenship and development education.

The contract value is 2.634.500€ and the implementation is envisaged for next four years.
